Sis Cora Almirante Appointed as PCMC’s Chief of Perinatology and Earns NAST Outstanding Book Award

Keeping true to the Mu Sigma Phi’s legacy of Leadership, Sis Corazon Yabes-Almirante was newly appointed as the Chief of Perinatal Care and Neonatology Division of the Philippine Children's Medical Center.

 
The Mu Health Caravan Arrives in Laguna

Amidst a forecast of rain and overcast skies, the true Los Baños spirit of dedication to service shone through in the Laguna Leg of the Mu Health Caravan. Braving the imminent downpour, close to 80 of the municipality’s barangay health workers and high school teachers flocked to the Trace College for a series of health and wellness interactive discussions spearheaded by the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority last July 31, 2010.

Gawad Panitikan Winners Announced!

Health and literacy take the forefront in the first-ever Gawad Panitikang Pangkalusugan: A Nationwide Children’s Book Writing Competition created by the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority of the UP – College of Medicine.

With the desire to positively influence the health-seeking behaviors of the youth, and to tap the literary gifts of would-be writers nationwide, this competition was launched last December 2009 and concluded just this July 2010. With the theme Tabi-tabi po: Exploring Philippine Health Myths, the competition was met with enthusiasm and outstanding support – receiving a total of 145 entries from various regions of the country.

Once again, in light of continuing the traditions of the sorority’s that has been ongoing for its 76 years of existence, sisses far and wide came together to welcome the freshmen of the UP College of Medicine in KaMUstahan: An Orientation and Introductory Dinner.
